We ask our volunteers to give their time and energy to Scouting. It is VERY frustrating to recruit someone into a position and then NOT be able to provide them with the information they need to be successful. We are losing good volunteers because, to them, it seems that their commitment to training/advancement/program is not matched by the BSA organization.

Like the comment before, our volunteers know that the records are wrong and it has become a joke among them. It affects moral and their view of their district/council level leaders. It is very embarrassing to be in the field and have this conversation at least once a week. There are only so many times I can tell people that "we are working on it." I have been saying that for over 2 years now.

I hope this issue can become a priority. It would even be helpful to hear an answer other than “we are working on it.” Our volunteers are one of the main reasons we are able to be successful as an organization. How can we ask them to make training and advancement priority in their units, if we do not do the same?
