Great idea. IMO we have too many trainings and too much time is required for leaders to be given the OK to go and be leaders. We ask too much. We require adults attend trainings in person or they can't take kids camping however we offer the MOST important training Youth Protection to be taken at home... This makes no sense. Offer ONE training online or in person for a Scouting Leader and have break outs for packs, troops, crews, committees.
Posting the number of Eagle Scout's is one thing...since we never lose any, that is a good idea.
However, posting total membership numbers might actually be slightly depressing. Unless the number is always going up we should not post falling numbers.
This is a great idea and being done all over the country. I started a Venturing Crew and recruited for it exclusively on facebook. It had 30 kids within a month...
Whether we like it or not, kids play video games... we need to accept that and not fear it. Creating something kids will WANT to do is what we should be doing. Create a Scouting video game while we're at it.
