I have always felt that the BSA was marketing the venturing program to the wrong group. For the most part the boys are already in a program that they want with the troop. By focusing on the girls we will hit a market that is craving the program and they will bring in other boys that are not currently in Scouting. I talked to a young girl once who could hardly wait to join Venturing. She said that if she had to make "one more Sit-a-pon" she would puke.
I wish that all of the units used Internet advancement for several reasons but many of our unit leaders do not have internet access and making it mandatory would be difficult.
