As a very recent graduate of PDL-1, and a Scouter with over 20 years in the program, I would suggest allowing a Council to be run by DE's that recently graduated PDL-1, with guidance from an experienced Council Scout Executive and/or Field Director.

For those of you who do not know, PDL-1 has been completely revamped and was an excellent experience. Hats off to the staff!

I would expect that new DE's, uncorrupted by the "old" approach, would run a very successful Council.

For a number of reasons, most importantly the complexity of the position and experience required, we are not going to move on this.

bpeticol: You hit the proverbial nail on the head! Thanks for your comments.

Obviously this approach is getting shot down, but I must say that is only an indication that the "old" approached are still very active. To those of you who avoid change and new ideas, hold on to your seats, because the "New BSA" is going to leave you in the dust.

I for one am excited to be involved in imrpoving this movement so we can be relative to the youth we serve for another 100 years.

I would suggest adding pen slots on the sleeve, such as 5.11 puts on their shirts. It is practical, and takes the pen away from the knots.

Also, are there plans to rnsure patches fit on the new uniforms? The knots do not fit right, some position patches do not, and neither do lodge flaps.

Other than that, nice design.

I would like to see the older poly-wool options for more formal occaisions.

awatson: Please read my post. I did not say the DE's should be the SE. I said UNDER THE GUIDANCE of an experienced SE and FE.
