I agree with Susan Cheever to a point. I could see this working as a "long-term" rather than a yearly deal. Such as they have to sttend 5 hours (or teach) of training in 5 years or something like that. I have a couple of Scoutmasters that have been doing this since 1910 and tell me they "don't need training, we know what we're doing". Although things have changed since 1910 or 2008 even.
I agreee with this one but part of the problem with the Pro Uniform is that we really don't look like Scouts in it. Don't we want to be identifiable as Scout/Scouters or "The Scout Guy/Gal" in a crowd. I have in years past worn the Green Wrangler (still american made I think) Riata dress slacks with the uniform shirt. Maybe we could just bring the Tan Uniform shirt up to a professional (with a tie) standard! I hate tie's in general and despise every day I am forced to wear them! And my father (a doctor) always tells me that they are one of the top ten for carrying disease and bacteria since they are rarely washed.
Anyway, I think the pro uniform should look like the Scout uniform only "professional" looking. No patches other than the BSA patch and maybe BSA buttons. Maybe a Green jacket to go with it.
I tried AT&T here and they were aweful. Their coverage was pretty useless and their local sales guy was just rude. I left them and went back to US Cellular but of course my District Chair owns a US Cellular store so!!!!! Anyway, I do think we might go with AT&T at home. They seem to be a good company, they just don't have good coverage in my rural district.
I had the same idea about 3 years ago and sent a letter to "someone" at national. I did get a reply but it was just the "we'll pass it along to the 100th Anniversary Committee" letter. Anyway, I'm glad to hear they are considering the idea. I've been a motorcycle/Harley guy for years and has anyone else noticed during school rallies how many kids are wearing OCC Stuff?
