Having just moved up to Boy Scouting with my son, I think Cub Scouting is long enough as it is. Boys and families join to go camping and I've noticed that even first graders are just a little too young to go on Pack campouts.

I think Fast Tracks will help first grade parents execute the Tiger program but Cub Scouting is a lot of work for active parents and I'm afraid making Cub Scouting a 5.5 - 6 year program will make it too long.

Agast strikes again! I agree with the suggestions and think the front kangaroo pockets and the shoulder loops should go. It would not be a big deal to take those off future runs without any fanfare. The original (1910) uniforms still look classic because they had good lines and didn't have forty patches on them. The sleeve pocket is ok. I put my national staff trading cards in there (just kidding). The position patch issue will solve itself over time.

agast may not be in a council that runs an effective Wood Badge course. Your area director can suggest an effective course to visit in a neighboring council. You might also check with your Scout Executive to see what you can to do your course director and Troop Guides in sync with your council's needs and objectives. Good luck.
