Can we change the name of the Webelos program. When I speak about it to 4th and 5th graders I get a lot of laughs and disappointed faces. "We Blow" is what most of the kids hear. "We Below" is what others hear. When they learn that first graders are Tigers and there are Bears and Wolves, the boys are disappointed to learn that they are called "We blow Scouts". Let's make the move to the 21st century and change the name to something more exciting. Like Raptor Scouts or Shark Scouts, or Wolverine scouts.

Scouting faces stiff competition from video games, this badge may be a way to bring those boys into scouting, or keep thier interest peaked

Of course kids don't drop out because of the name WEBELOS. They never signed up in the first place beacuse the name WEBELOS is dumb and kids unfamiliar with Scout do not know what it means or stands for.

I am a DE as well and I am hearing this from the boys themselves during our School Rally's or Boy Talks.

Panther scouts would be great. Anything is betther than "We Blow Scouts." Just try to talk to a 4th grade class that has just heard the Thrid graders are Bear Scouts. Tell those 4th graders that they are in their own special group called "We Blows". Its not fun for them and its not fun for me. But tell them they are Panther Scouts, maybe they are more inclined to join
