It is said, but it is very much true. In fact, I had a boy just the other day tell me that he was going to leave Scouting because he does not like the uniform. I did ask what he did not like about it, but he could not give me a firm answer; it is, however, more of a reality than we may realize. Maybe something unique wouldnt be a bad idea.
This seems like it would be a great edition, even if it is simply because video game creation involves graphic design, computer programming, etc... skills that many jobs now are moving towards and will continue to move towards.
Not sure the intent was to make it 3 fundraising efforts once reaching Life rank. If you made it three times throughout their Scouting Career, maybe that would work, but you would still be penalizing Troops and/ or Packs who are very succesful who do not participate in Council Fundraisers for any number of reasons. It would seem to me that we would only be hurting the boys in those types of units.
To that end, maybe it could be done by allowing Council Registrars to add their Councils Insurance Rate per registered member in a unit before a certain date. That way all chaters for a Council would have the appropriate Insurance info needed for each unit.
I am curious how something like this would work? I am working on creating a tracking sheet for Webelos to Scout Transition, but I am not sure how. Any suggestions?
