Perhaps we should not be so dependent on popcorn sales.

Changing the timing doesn't lessen the importance of success of the product sale. Further, if a council could "make up" a short fall, why isn't it raising that money now?

I agree with the comments above on other non-profits and businesses.

What are the benefits of a long term membership? I just don't see any benefit to the items listed above. Impressive cards? A $10.00 differnece in fees over 5 years?

Perhaps we should just fix the registration and reregistration process.

The developmental needs of girls are different than that of boys in the 6-12 age group.

Both the Girl Scout and Boy Scout age appropriate programs do a good job of meeting the specific needs of those youth.

Girl Scout units attract and hold members for the same reasons as Cub Scout packs the quality of the unit leadership.

Putting programs together is a short cut that will not strengthen the program for girls. In fact,it would probably lower the Cub Scout program to the level of the Girl Scout program.

Want to help? Use the skills you have learned in Cub Scouting and help the Girl Scouts recruit and train quality leadership to serve the girls in your area.

There are no Webelos II. There are 4th and 5th grade Webelos. When the program is run correctly, Webelos is an 18 month program.

The 5th grade Webelos and their parents have an outing with a Boy Scout troop. Relationships are built in this one den, one troop activity.

Fifth grade Webelos receive their Arrow of Light in February and begin meeting with a Boy Scout troop in March. They go to a spring camporee and are prepared for summer camp.

We don't need to fix something that isn't broke. We simply need to execute the program as designed.

Visit Cub Scouting resources and find the Core Values of Cub Scouting. These align with the 12 points of the Scout Law in an age appropriate manner.

I agree one oath and one law is the best option. Not getting that approved this program was developed by Sue Weiermann from Salt Lake City and the National Cub Scout Committee.

It is good you have a passion for this service/project. Perhaps it is best served by local councils and individuals that recognize the value rather than the BSA as an organization.

The BSA can't support all the great projects in this great country.

Good luck on a local emphasis!

There is already a program titled No Child Left Inside. Many states have or are adopting this initiative. You may wan tto consider another name or see if there is linkage potential with your program.
