The BSA should simulcast selected portions of National and Regional meetings. After returning from the Annual Meeting in Orlando it occured to me that there were a number of volunteers that would benefit from seeing any of the general, large gatherings. Could we simulcast these selected large gatherings on the web for volunteers and staff that are unable to attend the meeting.

As resources become available more training for both employees and volunteers will be accessible on-line. It should be pointed out though, that events such as national meetings provide tremendous networking value in addition to training

Maybe a texting strip is not appropriate but I think we are on to something. Technology is not going away, it is becoming a bigger part of our everyday lives. While I am not a "texter" I'm sure there are recruitment or program related applications for this method of communication. Instead of being wary of technology we need to embrace it. Lots of Scouts are now learning to use a GPS right along with the compass!

Our council uses a performance based bonus commission structure. Each unit that sells receives a base commission of 31%. If a unit has a representative at our kickoff/sale training AND conducts a unit level kickoff they receive a 5% "Preparing Your Unit" bonus. If a unit increases its total gross sale by 10% or for new units have 75% participation in the sale they receive an additional 5%. They also have to meet all of our deadlines and use the online ordering system. This system has streamlined the commission process and allows the units to really profit from their sale efforts. By having only two levels we've also eliminated the "hoops" a unit would have to jump through to earn their commission.
