My family has not had medical insurance for 3 years now because it is to expensive. Now they want to force me to buy medical insurance for myself...now I won't have medical insurance. One of the reasons I started working for the BSA was because of the medical insurance...do I need to rethink the whole thing because they don't care about who works for them anymore?
I do not use the BSA Health care for my family...it is way to expensive. therefore my wife and kids go without health care. we should do something about this so the government doesn't think they need to.
This should be a national site that each council can up-date and drill down to the district and the unit level. most councils have there own site but they are all different. we are the Boy Scouts and should all look like we belong to the same company.
you still have to have the hard copy for internet re-charter. we could get rid of the hard copy and jsut have the system send the DE and the council a e-mail copy of the paper work. then back this up on searchable hard drives using somthing like google desk top search. that way when you need to find that one app from 5 years ago...it takes 2 sec. not 2 days.
more paper work is a bad thing. it is 2008. Let's look like we as the Boy Scouts know that it is 2008. Less paper work not more. we should be doing all apps online. I have not writen a check in 10 years why can't we set it up with on-line payment and on-line sig's and everything. save a tree or ten thousand.
