It would be great to assemble a team to develop a wellness program that facilitates a regular fitness regimen for interested BSA employees. This would allow BSA to lead by example as well as reap the benefits of lower health insurance costs and improved worker performance. I understand that the offices in Irving have a wellness facility?

A Cross Functional Team had been assembled at National to address the specific wellness issues being suggested. The charter, vision and mission of the team are as follows:

Charter: The purpose of the Physical Wellness Cross Functional Team shall be to promote the importance of Physical Wellness to Scouts, Volunteers and Employees through education, activity and recognition. Delivery upon this purpose may be achieved through internal resources and in cooperation with approved entities outside of the BSA.

Vision: Participants in Boy Scouts of America will represent a lifestyle of physical fitness and health by being positive examples who are working to improve the health and wellness of the United States of America.

Mission: To develop a cohesive strategy, with supporting programs and tactics, that offers a long-term opportunity for improvement in physical health and fitness leading to the development and maintenance of a healthy lifestyle.

Additional information regarding strategy and tactics being applied to achieve these goals will be forthcoming. In the meantime, feel free to contact me with any questions. Thank you.
