When possible, it would be helpful to eliminate the K-6, 7&8, and high school format in ScoutNet when inputing LFL schools.

With the new license agreement structure, it shouldn't matter how we have the units broke out. The issue is with Middle school entries: if you have a school with 6, 7, and 8 graders, you currently need 1 Memorandum for the 6 graders and then a separate one for 7&8. Or, if you 7, 8, and 9 grades in the middle school you need a 7&8 form and then one for the 9th graders.

The registars are confused. Just eliminate the grade brake outs to solve this problem. Units are no longer tracked within the in-school program. ScoutNet should reflect that and less paperwork to be done. Basically... one form per school building no matter how many grades it has.

Thanks...

It would be wonderful if the assistants could be cc'd on emails concerning events registration, i.e. Top Hands, National Meetings. This would help us and those we support be more organized.

Meeting Management will gladly add a cc: to all administrative assistants regarding meeting related correspondence!
When a Scout transfers from one council to another and provides their BSA ID number, there should be a means by which individual's data in ScoutNet is transferred from the old council to the new and generate a report of transferred Scouts for both councils. This would be helpful for scouts and their families, registrars, and even for field staff who are looking at membership numbers.
This suggestion is both technological and cultural.

For decades, Charter Renewal has been the time for units to fill gaps in their leadership and register new adult leaders. But many years have now passed since background checks of volunteers has become part of Scouting. Registering new adults needs to happen immediately, but we currently have some leaders serving for several months before recharter time without completing an application or a background check.

In order to shift our culture away from registering adults only once a year, please remove the "Add New Adult" option from Online Rechartering. We need all the help we can get with some units and this will help us to share the message that new adults need to be registered immediately.

Perhaps more and improved communication on the importance of registering new volunteers and not waiting for recharter time will help. Also the “add new adult” option could be re-labeled to make its intent clearer. This should be reviewed as part of updating Internet Rechartering.
I have had more fustrations among Exploring Posts not being able to register online as the traditional programs do.

I also think that the paperwork that has to be completed is EXTREMELY complicated for volunteers. If the paperwork was more clear and asked for fewer signatures (especially repeat signatures) units may be more inclined to complete the paperwork and send it in without us tracking it down.

If you can buy car insurance online you should be able to register a unit online and have online youth applications :)
