In several other organizations where fundraising is done they give titles to different levels of giving that would appeal to the potential donors. For example: Oklahoma Shakespere in the Park uses titles like 'patron' for $125 donors, 'director' for $250 donors, and 'producer' for the $365. A local rennaissance fair similarly uses 'merchant', 'knight', and 'king' or 'queen' titles. Councils could come up with their own similar titles that would appeal to their donors to make the campaign more fun for all...E.G. "I'm an Eagle Scout supporter of the Circle 10 Council"

Actually the BSA has a number of suggested levels for donor giving, both in Friends of Scouting and in Major Gifts. Many councils select their own levels that are appropriate for their councils. If you would like help in this area contact the Council Funding Team.
It would be very helpful to be able to keep track of and run lists of parents of boys who earned the rank of Eagle Scout. We are very similar to a university in that we have young men who graduate from our program with a PHD in Scouting. The difference is we allow the parents too slowly fade away from us. Often times the parents are exactly the types of people we could use as commissioners, district committee members, board members, and donors etc. We capture some parent information on the Eagle application. It would be helpful if this were a field(s) when entering the data for Eagle Rank into ScoutNet by the Registrar to capture Name, Address, phone and email. Then on the back end the ability to run a report of "Eagle Parent(s)" from MyBSA or ScoutNet that could be exported to create mailing lists and also easily add to the community campaign prospect lists.

Just today the BSA acquired the Internet domains for EagleScoutParents. Next year, 2009, is going to be a vanguard year for alumni development. In January the new www.bsaalumni.org Web site will be launched, followed the next month by a greatly expanded NESA members section of www.nesa.org.
There has got to be a better way of pulling up FOS reports in MyBSA. It would be wonderful to be able to click on Fundraising, then a FOS link, then select my council, then my district, and select my campaign division (scouter, family, community, or even special event). Then I select report type like $ pledged/given per unit, or $ pledged/given per person or both.

It would also be fun to run a report sorted by total amount given per person or by unit showing the largest or smallest amount first and in order likewise. As it is, scoutnet and Mybsa is very difficult to use to generate these reports for FOS. All the fundrasing links on MyBSA and scoutnet are way to confusing and NOT user friendly.

I would suggest FOS pledge cards include the individual's email address, either for them to make changes or blank to encourage submission of information.
Also, an option for Council's to add another field. Our local United Way added, "Check here to add a $5 gift to the Endowment Fund". Imagine if even 50% of our donors made a $5 or $10 gift to the endowment fund. Good marketing and it would be painless.

All kinds of customized FOS pledge card options are on the development list in MyBSA FR. Custom Reporting will address this issue.
