My office staff tells me that effective January 1, 2010, labels for bulk mail need to have all information in all capitalized format, no commas anywhere, and some other changes. Will we have a soft-ware update to accomodate these changes? Can anyone verify this information as I cannot find this on the USPS website.

In our Council, whenever an Eagle Applicant submits their paperwork, they seem to forget or look over the fine print of this requirement. I wonder if they might include a section for the requirement #6 in the project workbook. That way, it is already in the booklet and ready to be turned in.

September 11th is just around the corner. To honor America on this day I'm asking all of the scouts and leaders around my district and council to wear their scout uniform to work and school. Having the Amercian Flag on our shoulder shows our strong committment to our nation. I'm hoping this idea would catch on across the country as we could have thousands of scouts making a strong statement. As a side it will also help with recruitments if scouts wore the uniform to classes for the day.

It's been suggested in a couple of the Venturing threads, but not as a seperate idea for individual consideration. Yes, you can order a black market knot to recognize this accomplishment, but I would like to see this added as an officially recognized knot.

In addition to the castels/ forts etc in the Cub and Webelos program, why not create a "body movement" (think kinestetics or proprioception) activity area. This would be a location in camp where the child could go to learn the proper body movements to:
Throw or catch a ball Do a summersault, tumbling Shoot a basket ball. Jump Rope
These are all learned activities and children do learn them in various activities conducted at traditional camp venues. However, the interconnectivity between these activities and the muscles used can be lost. A greater focus on the methodology is a seperate venue is possible.
A program like this may be precieved as high value among adults and just plain fun by the children. This would support our new emphasis on fitness.
The setting could be as simple as an open field with a storage building for program materials or even a big open floor warehouse type building.
