Webelos Invasion
A webelos Invasion has helped in my old district with cross over and retention. A one day event where every Troop in the district is invited to display their troop(doesn't work so well with large or rural districts). Postcards are then send out to all registered Webelos, inviting them to learn about boy scouting from the Troops themselves.

It also allows the troops to interact with the troops from their own towns or neighborhoods.

What a great Idea! Here's another I heard from one of our best recruiting Troops -'Crash and Dash'

A group of four or five Scouts are selected to 'Crash' a Webelos Den meeting. (Of course the Webelos Den Leader is part of the plan and knows they are coming.)The Scouts burst in, take over the meeting with a game and a hands on basic skills training, and then they 'Dash' They are there no longer than 20 minutes. While there they talk about their Troop and all the activities they have planned.
