Made in America
As millions of our countrymen lose their jobs to unfair labor practices overseas, it seems less than appropriate that our uniforms are made in China. If cost is an issue, maybe we could provide an American made product alongside the foreign product, and give everyone the option to "buy America". It could even be used a a marketing tool.

I agree. As the wife of a Vietnam veteran, I find it hard to be selling (some of the neckerchiefs) that are "made in Vietnam". Bring the jobs home. Thank

The Boy Scouts of America should not be supporting Communist governments with any supply purchases especially including uniforms with the American Flag on the sleeve. When products are made in Vietnam, I will not purchase them and China should also be excluded. If this is for the saving a buck, we should check with other needy countries like Mexico, etc. I would prefer unifoms be made in the USA but strongly support not having them come from Communist countries.

We were told at PD-L1 that BSA couldn't find a vendor to produce the shirts here in the US to the standards they were looking for. It would appear that those "jobs" are already gone.

If we really wanted to support the community around us, perhaps BSA should sell templates/patterns for the uniform shirts and folks could buy local material and have uniforms made by local tailors.

It's interesting to see how things change. I posted a similar comment several months ago and the idea of "Made in America" was voted down by a large margin. I agree that it is very wrong to have "Official BSA" stuff made in a foreign country especially a communist country. As to uniform quality standards, I believe that all United States Military Uniforms are made in the USA. If they can have standards met, so also could we. Is the real issue one of 'cost and profit' or 'ideals'?

Several of my volunteers have complained about the "made in china" and the iron on flags.

Concerned about comment that BSA could not find a satisfactory American vendor.

Think out of the box. Most boys I've seen no longer Scout pants - they wear jeans. Probably for cost and durability. What about approaching a jeans company (maybe Lee is pro-BSA) about Scout pants being made in denim and dyed green? Should get the cost back down, made in America, durable, and match the uniform. Our Scout Shop has a couple dozen centennial pants that came unstitched the first couple of times people wore them.

There is a difference between buy american and made in america...
Our group buys from american companies but the majority of the items come with Made in China on them...

So do we advertise that we buy only from American companies or do we buy only items Made In America????
